They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of someone whom he considered as a poor family.
On their return from the trip, the father asked his son “How was the trip?”
“It was great Dad!”
“Did you see how poor people lived?”
“Oh yeah,” said the son.
“So tell me, what did you learn from the trip son?”, asked the father.
The son answered.
“I saw that we have only one dog, but they have four.”
“We have a swimming pool that reaches out to the middle of our garden, but they have a flowing creek that has no end.”
“We have imported lanterns in our garden, but they have the sky full of bright shining stars at night.”
“Our patio reaches out to the front yard, but they have the whole horizon.”
“We have a piece of land to live on, but they have fields that go beyond our sight.”
“We have servants who serve us, but they serve the villagers and those who are in need.”
“We buy our food, but they grow theirs.”
“We have walls around our property to guard us, but they have true sincere friends to protect them.”
“Thanks Dad, for showing me how poor WE ARE”, his son said.
Isn’t perspective a wonderful thing? Makes us wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything that we have, instead of worrying about what we dont have …..
Appreciate every single thing that matters, especially your loved ones! Life is too short, because by the time you realized what’s missing in your life, it would probably be too late….. wallahualam.
