RM100mil deals from MIFB seen
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ninth Malaysia International Food & Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB 2008 ) expects some RM100mil worth of trade deals to be announced during its three-day trade fair here starting July 10.
Expomal International Sdn Bhd director of group corporate affairs Wee Teck Kee said that amid rising concerns on spiralling oil and food costs, MIFB 2008 would serve as a platform for the movers and shakers in the food & beverage and agriculture industry to source the best solutions for innovative food products and services.
“The mingling and exchange of information during the three days of trade activities is aimed at expanding the trade opportunities in the F&B industry as well as increasing production amid the global food shortage,” he said.
Over 300 business-to-business matching sessions have been pre-arranged. Wee said Expomal was targeting almost 20,000 trade visitors to this year’s fair. “We have 350 exhibitors from more than 20countries, 30% more than last year,” he said.
